Achieving Leadership Mastery Starts Here

Arrogance Is Not Confidence

Despite what some leaders believe, arrogance is not a substitute for confidence. It’s possible that a situational shortfall of self-awareness, embarrassment, fear or position power is causing it. But, in any case, when any person, leadership title or not, boasts themselves or attempts to put themselves over others-with words, tone or attitude, that will only serve as a short term remedy for being skillful. Period and end of statement.

Tremendous power and respect to those who humbly recognize they don't know everything and arrogance is not a replacement for confidence. It’s also not a means to force gain respect or influence.

Additionally, there is relationship value and strength from humility and openness to new ways of looking at situations and candidly traits that we not only need more of, but traits that draw people in.

Strive to be more humble and believing deep inside that you don’t know everything and nothing gives you the right to treat others in a arrogant manner. When you feel you are crossing the line into arrogance, take a pause and check yourself. Most everyone will appreciate that.
