Avoid Thinking Traps

Thinking traps are conditions, most often caused by stress and anxiety, that can prolong negative thinking. They cause us to make subpar decisions or simply freeze. They are often caused by irrational beliefs. Thinking traps can cause us to remain in a negative, downward emotional spiral. The longer we are in that, the longer we tend to stay in it.

A thinking trap could be, I can never be the same leader/coach/teacher, operating in a virtual, online world. Is that REALLY true? What evidence do you have that confirms that?

Thinking traps need to be recognized and challenging with new facts, data and logic. Managing them requires having a mindset of perseverance and adaptability.

Everyone falls into thinking traps. Manage yours and help others manage theirs.
