Recognize Good News
Here’ s another proven resiliency and positivity building tip. When someone comes to you with good news about themselves and their situation, recognize it. Don’t flip to your status or issues or condition. Don’t ignore it. Don’t try to outdo them. Recognize it and help them savor and celebrate it. By doing this, we are helping them “relive” the positive moment and experience, which fuels that upward positive emotional spiral. This again creates a buffer against the stress and anxiety we ALL are feeling. It’s also a very important relationship building piece of advice.
