Leadership Program Design Excellence

There is no shortage of leadership (and culture) development programs out there. Lots of claims. Tons of choices. Many home grown methods. It can be confusing and actually hinder choice and decision making, especially in our world of “give me a quick solution (non such exist)”. Sometimes the power of ones training or coaching “voice”, oddly enough, takes precedent over the real usefulness and value of the systems strategies, methods and actions.

Here are my thoughts on this, from years of experience, and having personally lived and studied 100’s of leadership development programs.

+It needs to be a TRUE integrated, comprehensive system. Systems have interconnected, end to end components and not simply inclusion of seemingly random competences or methods.

+It needs to create, through its application, intentional introspection, through enhanced personal awareness and feedback mechanisms.

+It must enable intentional, positive influence through consistent applied use of the strategies and methods. Leadership is INFLUENCE at its core!

+It must enable any leader, in any role, at every level, to INSPIRE most positively and motivate others for growth, action and effective execution.

All this will enable an organization, program and team to build an exceptional culture which maximizes talent, enabling their full power to be achieved, as it always should.
