Purposeful Development

Changing habits and behaviors is highly difficult. There’s no shortage of material written on this. Research backs it all up. Our habits are formed in our brain and all those years of accumulated connections are difficult to change. However, as you know, change is possible and necessary. We take on new nutrition programs. We modify our workout routines. We take up new hobbies. We create new or modify habits. What is most important is that we recognize as individuals that we can change, must change and are NEVER complete as a person. We can never be done growing. Our growth impacts us and has a huge ripple effect around us with others. When we adopt a mindset of committing to a personal improvement goal and recognize that we must adapt along the way, we set ourselves up for success. Couple that with a well defined plan that actually identifies some potential obstacles and actions to overcome them, we now have a highly useful roadmap. So, build your personal development roadmap. Help your people/team build theirs. Recognize and talk up the power of having a positive mindset. Know that two of the most powerful and important traits to carry with us in our world are strengths of perseverance and adaptability. Use these to your advantage and help others do the same. Remember, the goal is to constantly create the best version of you!
