Take The Hill - Set BOLD Goals

I’m one of those people that believes that we can take on and accomplish virtually anything we want in life. Studies show that we have a lot more control than we actually think we have. There is very little one can’t achieve, given the right positive mindset and character strength of perseverance. It’s proven that great achievement comes from effort and adaptability-two of the most important traits to focus on in our increasingly challenging world. Many “hills” in education, athletics, business and ministry were taken with these attitudes. Every hill you take makes you stronger and more resilient to be poised to take on the next.

I believe that if you are going to take on a new goal that you are passionate about and believe that you (and others ultimately) will benefit greatly, then a total investment of time and energy is needed. While there may be some satisfaction attained from a partial goal achievement, with some much invested already, why not finish the job? There is no looking back at life through the rear view mirror, so why not be bold and committed to take it to the finish line?

As you are thinking through, as I am, a tight list of personal development goals for the new year, set them up to be BOLD. Set yourself up for success, by not only being “all-in” committed for also have a plan for how you will overcome obstacles to those BOLD goals. Have a nothing is out of reach mentality. Make certain you have a deep passion for them and they will be meaningful to you as well as purposeful for and benefiting the world around you. Set up milestones or checkpoints and celebrate and savor your accomplishments. All this will make you more resilient to the upcoming life events and challenges.

When you BELIEVE in your bold goals, you will ACHIEVE them. What “hills” will you take on and conquer in the coming year? Whether it’s a skill, behavior, habit or personal challenge, I wish you all the best in believing and achieving!
